ARTIST PROFILE

Karol has been drawing and creating characters ever since she was a young girl. After earning her B. F. A. in drawing and painting from Baldwin-Wallace College, she worked as a sign painter, cartoonist, graphic designer and an art director for an advertising agency. It didn't take her long to realize that illustration was her true passion.

Although Karol likes to work in a variety of areas, she devotes most of her time to illustrating for children's projects. For the past twenty years her work has appeared in books and magazines, on posters, wallpaper, puzzles, games, stickers and greeting cards, as well as in advertising campaigns. Karol's illustrations are whimsical and full of color, warmth and expression. She likes to work in ink, watercolor, gauche and colored pencil. Some of her clients include Scholastic, McGraw-Hill, Barnes and Noble, GlaxoSmithKline, Kids II Inc., World Almanac Education, American Greetings Inc., and Hunter Douglas.

When Karol isn't drawing or painting, she still spends most of her time around children. Karol is a teacher, a coach and she spends her free time reading books to children at the school library.

Karol lives with her husband Stacy, her children Alyssa, Alex, Kyra and Eli and their pooch Angus in Brunswick, Ohio - just south of Cleveland!
